Introducing the First Mon Design Competition for Inspiring Web3 Creators!

What is the Mon Design Competition About?
Welcome to the first Mon Design Competition co-hosted by Refinable, Ethermon and Polygon Studios! Artists will have the unique opportunity to create custom Ethermon NFTs, feature them on Refinable’s marketplace, and win great prizes!

Ethermon, one of the world’s earliest Ethereum-based NFT gaming projects, has partnered with Refinable in an initiative to encourage creators and artists to participate in the first Mon design competition. Creators and artists will have the opportunity to showcase their talents across the Ethermon and Refinable ecosystems while also having the chance to win great prizes! 

The power of web3 starts from the ground up: Community members directly add value to the projects that excite them. At both Ethermon and Refinable, we believe every one of us should benefit from the value we create. It is now your time to show off your Mon creation skills! Ethermon aims to bring your Mon creation to life and feature it on Refinable’s leading multi-chain marketplace, where you will have the chance to see your NFT come to life in an established game ecosystem and rendered to explore Decentraland in 3D!   

All aspiring Mon artists are invited to join this competition to earn royalties on your creations and prizes with a total value of USDT $50,000!

Competition Details
We welcome all artists to design their own Mon, which will come to life in our gaming ecosystem. The theme of this competition is First Form! 

This is an opportunity to flex your skills for a large set of players, collectors, and NFT artists to witness. You also will be able to see your 2D Mon designs rendered in 3D and playable in the most extensive gaming district in Decentraland — Ethermon District. You will have the opportunity to earn cash prizes, receive royalties on primary sales, and own the first-ever mint of your own creation.

How to Participate
If you are interested in entering this design competition, you must register here by June 30, 2022. More details on the deliverables will be sent to successful applicants, who have until July 30, 2022 to send in their designs.

This is an opportunity to flex your skills for a large set of players, collectors, and NFT artists to witness. If you find yourself amongst the 3 winners, your 2D Mon design will be rendered in 3D, to be played in the most extensive gaming area in Decentraland — the 668 parcel Ethermon District.

Winning artists will earn cash prizes, receive royalties on primary sales, and own the first-ever mint of your own creation.

Deliverables (July 30, 2022 Deadline)
– One (1) image of your Mon design, facing the right. 
– Format: PNG
– Dimensions: At least 2000 x 2000px (1:1)
– Bonus: One action shot of your Mon, showing that it is ready for battle.

Judging Criteria
Mon designs will be judged on creative details, backstory (1–3 sentences), and adherence to the Ethermon brand guidelines. 

Considerations
– Your Mon must be “Form 1” only, meaning that it will have no higher forms (or evolutions). Your design should be in its peak, most powerful form.
– Your unique Mon creation must embody the Forest biome, meaning it needs to have either one (1) or two (2) of the following elemental types: Leaf, Earth, or Neutral.
– Also, keep in mind that each new Mon is forged by an alliance between three (3) Mons of previous generations, aka Ancestors. At a later stage in the competition, our team will help you find these Ancestors for your Mon creation and provide feedback on how well your Mon fits into the Ethermon universe.

Prizes and Benefits for Winners
Three (3) artists will be selected by a diverse panel of judges and will receive prizes and a real stake in their NFT creation, including royalties on primary sales. Winners will be ranked in first, second, and third place with corresponding prizes.  

First Place 
– Rarity: Legendary (total supply: 30)
– 1,000 USDT
– 2.5% royalties on primary sales
– Receive the first mint (#1 Badge) of Form 1 in the Mon NFT design

Second Place 
– Rarity: Rare (total supply: 50)
– 500 USDT
– 2.5% royalties on primary sales
– Receive the first mint (#1 Badge) of Form 1 in the Mon NFT design

Third Place 
– Rarity: Uncommon (total supply: 250)
– 300 USDT
– 2.5% royalties on primary sales
– Receive the first mint (#1 Badge) of Form 1 in the Mon NFT design

Estimated total value: Over US$50,000 in prizes and royalties
